You play as Gunvolt, this electric-wielding dude with sick powers, and in the second game, you can also play as his rival, Copen, who’s got this insane dash-and-shoot mechanic. The story’s all about psychic warriors called Adepts fighting against a shady org called the Sumeragi Group. It’s got drama, over-the-top villains, and a ton of flashy action. Oh, and the music? Absolute bangers.

So, if you’re into fast-paced, skill-based platformers, this pack is a must-have. The gameplay is tight, with Gunvolt’s electric tagging mechanic feeling super satisfying once you get the hang of it. Copen’s gameplay in the second game is a whole different vibe, way more aggressive and technical, which keeps things fresh. The levels are designed to make you feel like a total badass, especially when you chain together combos and rack up those sweet, sweet scores.

The visuals are crisp and colorful, with that classic 2D sprite work we all know and love. It’s not pushing the 3DS hardware obviously, but it’s stylish as hell. The characters are fun, and the banter between Gunvolt and his AI companion, Joule, is low-key charming. And dude, the music. It’s this mix of J-pop and electronic beats that just slaps. It’s a huge part of the game’s identity, and it totally works.

The only real downside? If you’re not into score-chasing or replaying levels to perfect your run, the games might feel a bit short. But honestly, the sheer replayability and the thrill of mastering the mechanics make up for it.
