Adventure Time: The Games Together Again
Welcome to the Adventure Time: The Games Together Again collection! We couldn't end the month's theme of adventure games without shouting out the best adventure cartoon ever with its weirdly wonderful world and lovable characters, it was only a matter of time before Finn and Jake jumped into the gaming scene. The Nintendo 3DS got a handful of these gems, so let's break 'em down.
Adventure Time
Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!
First up, Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! is a love letter to classic 2D Zelda games but with Finn's fists and Jake's stretchy powers. The gameplay’s simple but fun, you explore Ooo, beat up bad guys and solve puzzles while hunting down the Ice King’s stolen trash (because of course, that’s a plot ). The art style nails the show’s vibe and the writing’s packed with that same quirky humor but the combat can get repetitive fast, and the dungeons are kinda basic. Still, it’s a solid game, specially for fans who just wanna hang with Finn and Jake in game form.
Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW!
In Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! you team up with Finn, Jake and a bunch of other characters to dive deep into the Royal Dungeon, smashing monsters and collecting loot. The concept’s rad, but the execution's mid. The dungeons feel samey, the combat’s button mashy and the lack of a strong story makes it drag. The coop mode’s cool with friends tho and hearing the original voice cast is always a win. It’s not the best, but if you’re craving some mindless hack and slash with your favorite heroes, it’s worth a peek.
The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom
The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is another Zelda-like adventure but this time with more polish. Finn’s on a quest to rescue princesses (classic) and the puzzles and dungeons are way more engaging than the previous games. The art’s crisp, the music’s catchy and the side quests add some extra flavor, but it’s still pretty short and the difficulty’s all over the place, sometimes it’s a breeze, other times it’s weirdly tough.
Finn & Jake's Investigations
Finn & Jake's Investigations is different, instead of Zelda-style adventuring, it’s more of a mix of point and click detective work and beat 'em up action. Finn and Jake team up to solve mysteries across Ooo, interrogating weirdos, collecting clues and punching evil in the face. The 3DS version keeps the core gameplay but scales things down: fewer side quests, smaller areas, and less visual flair compared to the home consoles versions. The console editions feel more fleshed out, with better graphics and smoother combat, but the 3DS version still holds up if you’re craving some portable Adventure Time sleuthing.

Coming Soon
One last thing, for all you Adventure Time fans, turns out Fionna and Cake are making their way to the 3DS after all. Yeah, Imma drop their series in the Theater soonish. Not this month but, y’know, soon. No exact date yet but it’s happening. So if you’ve been waiting to watch their shenanigans on 3D, just hang tight a little longer.
