DRAGON BALL Z: Buu's Fury
DRAGON BALL Z: Buu's Fury is the third and final entry in the Legacy of Goku series, tho it weirdly drops the subtitle on the box. It picks up right after Legacy of Goku II, covering the entire Buu Saga, from the Other World Tournament all the way to Kid Buu's defeat and the Peaceful World epilogue. It even sneaks in movie references, making it a packed adaptation for DBZ fans.

The gameplay sticks close to its predecessor, keeping the same action RPG formula. You've got basic melee (A button) and ki blasts (B button), with blocking and energy volleys added for some depth. The scouter returns for map navigation and enemy stats, while the pause menu lets you dump stat points into strength, power or endurance. Equipment plays a bigger role this time, with weighted gear like 1-Ton Boots slowing you down but boosting EXP gains, a neat risk/reward mechanic. The leveling system is simple but satisfying, tho the game's notorious for being way too easy, even on a first playthrough.
Where Buu's Fury shines is in its roster. You get a ton of playable characters, Goku (all the way to Super Saiyan 3), Gohan (with his Ultimate form), Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, and even fusions like Gotenks and Gogeta and Vegito. The story follows the anime faithfully, split into 12 chapters tho it skips some filler and rushes through moments like Majin Vegeta's sacrifice (he's weirdly in base form for it).
Visually, it’s solid for a GBA title. The sprites are detailed, and the Super Saiyan transformations look great, tho the animations are stiff. The soundtrack uses Bruce Faulconer’s iconic DBZ score, which is pretty cool. The game’s packed with odd trivia, too. Grammar mistakes in dialogue, swapped Kai positions during the Pikkon fight, and even a DRAGON BALL GT easter egg.
