Tsukihime
Tsukihime is basically the legendary janky nanny of the whole TYPE-MOON universe. Imagine this: it's the year 2000, and this small doujin circle drops a visual novel that's basically a masterclass in crafting an incredibly compelling urban fantasy world on a shoestring budget. It follows Shiki Tohno, a dude with messed up eyes that let him see the «lines of death» on everything, who gets tangled up with a vampire princess named Arcueid and a whole secret world of magic, church assassins and family drama. The story is split into two main halves: the Near Side with Arcueid and Ciel, which is more about the external vampire action, and the Far Side with his sister Akiha and the maids, which delves way deeper into the super creepy, psychological horror of the Tohno household. It's raw, ambitious and packed with the kind of dense lore and iconic characters that would define TYPE-MOON's style forever.

But here's the thing you gotta know: it's rough. Like, super simple presentation with mostly monochromatic backgrounds, a famous lack of actual vampire hunting in the Ciel route and of course, it being an eroge with some pretty dated and awkwardly placed adult scenes. Its legacy is massive tho, it spawned the Melty Blood fighting games, a kinda not great anime that fans pretend doesn't exist and the glorious meme spawning creation of Neco-Arc, the chaotic cat gremlin that broke free from a joke sketch to become the franchise's unofficial mascot.
It's the humble, scrappy origin story where you can see all the genius ideas poking through the limitations.
PLUS DISC
The PLUS DISC is a cool bonus fandisc they dropped after the main game. It has some side stories, like Alliance of Illusionary Eyes, where a murderer impersonates Shiki, which is a super creepy concept, plus a bunch of hilarious meta stuff. Also, it's packed with goodies like early demos and even the first few chapters of Kara no Kyōkai: Garden of the sinners. The biggest bummer tho? This awesome collection doesn't has any sound, total silence. It's a bummer, I know but I plan to fix that in the future.
