I’ve scoured the corners of the EarthBound community (and maybe a few alternate dimensions) to curate this collection, ensuring every adventure is smoother, funnier, and just a little bit stranger. Nah, kiddin', I mostly just combed through romhacking.net (RIP tho). Anyway, this compilation brings together the best romhacks and enhancements to give you the perfect way to experience all three games in this legendary series and capturing everything that makes EarthBound… well, EarthBound. ＭＯＴＨＥＲ / EarthBound Beginnings
Let’s begin at the beginning, EarthBound Beginnings! This game has been through a lot of changes, with fans refining it over and over until it’s finally the game it was always meant to be. This version, called EarthBound Beginnings: Ultimate Faithful Edition, is literally a fork of a fork of a fork of a fork meaning it's the topmost remix.
The graphics? Completely redrawn to match the original clay models, making the goofy enemies goofier and the creepy ones even creepier. The world? It’s been brightened up, expanded in some places, and simplified in others, so you won’t get lost as easily. Gameplay? Tweaked to be challenging, but fair, with quicker battles and more balanced leveling.
Plus, the script has been polished to better connect with the rest of the series, using Tomato’s official translation from Mother 1+2 and some clever updates. Giegue is now Giygas, “Status” is now “Wisdom,” and everything just flows better. If you want the best version of this classic, with the localized title and all the fan-made improvements, this is the one.

ＭＯＴＨＥＲ 2 / EarthBound: Giygas Strikes Back!
In EarthBound you step into the shoes of Ness, a young boy destined to save the world from a cosmic evil known as Giygas. Armed with psychic powers, a trusty bat, and a group of loyal friends, Ness must travel across strange towns, battle bizarre enemies, and unravel the mysteries of the universe, all while keeping his sense of humor intact!
Now, with MaternalBound Redux, this beloved JRPG gets the ultimate upgrade. This uncensored and enhanced version of EarthBound brings a ton of quality-of-life improvements, from bug fixes and updated controls to sharper sprites and MSU-1 audio (though 3DS compatibility with this feature is still in the works), this hack revitalizes the classic game, ensuring it looks and plays better than ever.

This High-Quality Sound Patch significantly cleans up the audio by changing how the game mixes its sound channels.
Here’s the technical magic behind it: Normally, the GBA mixes audio channels at 8-bit before downsampling them, which unfortunately leads to that infamous background hiss we all know too well. But with this patch, each individual channel is mixed at 16-bit audio before downsampling to 8-bit. This clever trick minimizes quantization and rounding errors, resulting in much cleaner audio. The difference is like night and day, you’ll hear Shogo Sakai’s incredible compositions with a clarity that makes the music even more immersive.
What’s even better? The results shine brightest when played on actual hardware, making it perfect for those who want to experience ＭＯＴＨＥＲ 3 as it was always meant to be heard.
