Mega Man Legends Collection

Mega Man Legends feels like the devs said «Fuck the whole eight robot masters and castle thing, we're doing a postapocalyptic treasure hunter now!» joker_nasty. Here, MegaMan is stuck on a sunny island with Roll and her grandpa, constantly getting bullied by the Bonne family, some goofy pirates with a million lil minions called Servbots. The whole island is one big interconnected dungeon that keeps opening up as you find buster parts and craft weapons from random junk. Exploration carries so hard but the music is kinda mid, 8 most dungeons are silent, like c'mon, where are the bangers??? VayneMute Visually, it aged so well, that celshaded style pops, character expressions are somehow more alive than games twice its age. ChikaWoah

Mega Man Legends 2

Mega Man Legends 2 fixes like 90% of what you complained about in the first game, controls are better, you can move while locked on and strafing feels natural; and the scope is huge now, you leave that one cozy island and go to multiple islands across different planets each with their own distinct cultural vibe ripped from real world inspo. NikoWoah The story gets wild too, diving into Roll's missing parents, the Mother Lode and ancient civilization lore. Dungeons are more varied thematically (snow, volcano, water) but the level design is often tedious and enemy health bars got padded so bad that combat becomes less about strategy and more just holding the buster button forever. ClorindeCoffee Special weapon system is still cool but now you gotta grind in absurd amounts for endgame upgrades and you still can't swap weapons outside the ship. Seiko_Pissed And then there's the ending, which isn't an ending, it's a cliffhanger that's been dangling for over 26 years 'cuz CAPCOM pulled the plug on Mega Man Legends 3 for the 3DS. KidRage So once you finish this journey, you immediately get hit with a hollow feeling knowing we'll probably never get closure. yb_sad Anyways, the patch I included gives you the proper PSP experience, without the framedrops and some QoL upgrades.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne is a proof that if you make your villains lovable enough, people will show up for a whole game. As the name says, you play as the teenage girl trying to pay off debt and rescue her dumb brother from another lamer pirate. gojolol It's not a Mega Man Legends game how you'd expect, there's no open town, no sprawling interconnected sections, not even saving the world; instead, it's a grab bag of mission types where half the time you're piloting the Gustaff mech through action stages robbing banks or fighting reaverbots, other times you're playing a puzzle game stacking cargo containers on a dock with crane physics that will ruin your day. MizukiTired Oh, and the Servbots! You've got forty of these little yellow goobers, each with their own name and personality and favorite foods, and you can train them, give them gifts, scold them, send them on scouting missions, crown one as your favorite so he can gamble at the casino while you nap, and honestly half the playtime is just messing around on the airship talking to them. awwbigeyes If you liked the previous two games, this is one is essential not because it's a good game, but because it loves this weird family as much as you do.
