Detective Pikachu
Detective Pikachu drops you into this quirky world where you team up with a talking Pikachu who’s got a knack for solving mysteries. You play as Tim Goodman, a kid searching for his missing dad in Ryme City, a place that’s all about Pokémon living alongside humans. You and Pikachu, go around solving cases, talking to various Pokémon, and unraveling the mystery of Tim’s dad. Similar to the movie, but the gameplay revolves mainly around talking to people, piecing together clues, and light puzzle-solving.

On one hand, the concept is pretty cool, having a detective story with Pokémon is a fresh spin. The art style is charming, and the character designs are on point, it slightly resembles Scarlet & Violet art style. The dialogues can be funny, especially with Pikachu’s snarky comments. The way they’ve built Ryme City is also neat, it feels alive, with Pokémon doing everyday stuff.
But here’s the kicker: the gameplay can get super repetitive. You’re mostly just clicking through conversations, and the puzzles? Too much hand holding. And honestly, the story drags at times, with some cases feeling stretched out. Not to mention, the voice acting, while fun, can feel a bit over-the-top for some players. If you’re a Pokémon fan, you might enjoy this, but for the average gamer, you may be looking for something more.
