Shantae and the Pirate's Curse: Collector's Edition

After losing her genie powers, Shantae teams up with her nemesis turned ally, Risky Boots. The plot kicks off when an ancient evil resurfaces, and it’s up to Shantae and Risky to stop it. They explore various islands, collect magical gear, and face off against quirky foes, all while unraveling the secrets of their pasts. It’s got that classic save the world vibe, mixed with some funky pirate themes.

The art style is pure eye candy. It’s got this delightful, colorful aesthetic of its predecessor, Shantae: Risky's Revenge. Each area is distinct and packed with charm, making you wanna dive deeper just to soak in the visuals.

The gameplay is where things really shine. It’s a Metroidvania-style adventure, so if you love exploring and backtracking for hidden goodies, you’re in for a treat. The combat feels fluid, with Shantae’s whip-like hair and various pirate gadgets adding some spicy mechanics to the mix. You’ll be chaining combos and dodging enemies like a pro in no time. However, some people might find the backtracking a bit tedious, especially when you’re trying to remember where those sneaky collectibles are hiding. 

One of the coolest aspects is the character development. Shantae and Risky Boots have this well developed dynamic. You see them grow from adversaries to somewhat of a team, which adds depth to the story. Plus, the humor is on point! The dialogue is filled with cheeky quips and playful banter, making the adventure feel light-hearted despite the looming threats.
