Ever Oasis
Ever Oasis is this kinda underrated game that blends action-adventure, town-building, and light RPG elements into one cozy package. You play as a Seedling, a cute little humanoid with plant powers, tasked with building and managing an oasis in the middle of a harsh desert. Along the way, you recruit villagers, explore dungeons, and fight monsters, all while keeping your oasis thriving. The art style is vibrant, the music’s chill, and the gameplay loop is surprisingly addictive.

The story isn’t groundbreaking: evil force threatens the world, and you’re the chosen one to fix it, but it’s charming enough to keep you hooked. The real meat of the game is in the oasis management. You gotta assign jobs to your villagers, stock up on resources, and expand your town to attract more residents. It’s satisfying watching your little desert hub grow, especially when you unlock new shops and gear. The dungeon crawling is solid too, with puzzles that make you think but never feel frustrating. Combat’s simple but fun, especially when you swap between party members to exploit enemy weaknesses.
The pacing can drag at times, especially when you’re grinding for materials to upgrade your oasis. Some of the fetch quests feel repetitive, and the AI for your party members can be a little derpy in battles. Plus, while the world is pretty, the desert setting means a lot of the areas look samey after a while. But if you can look past that, Ever Oasis has a lot of heart. It’s the kind of game you play to unwind, with just enough depth to keep things interesting.
