Mighty Switch Force! Collection packs these little action-puzzle-platformers from WayForward, the same folks who brought us Shantae. You play as Patricia Wagon, a cyborg cop with a snazzy helmet and a blaster, chasing down a bunch of escaped convicts called the Hooligan Sisters. Your job? Whip out your trusty Siren Helmet to «shift» blocks in and out of existence, navigate tricky levels, and zap those sisters back into custody. The first game is all about speed and precision, while the sequel adds firefighting mechanics, turning Patricia into a full-on firefighter cop. Both games are short but sweet, packed with tight gameplay, catchy chiptune beats, and that signature WayForward charm.

Mighty Switch Force! is quick and intense. The first game is all about mastering the block-shifting mechanic to solve puzzles and reach the end of each level as fast as possible. It’s got this addictive «gotta beat my time» vibe that keeps you replaying levels to shave off seconds. The art style is super crisp, with bright colors and smooth animations that pop on the 3DS. The music? Absolute bangers. Jake Kaufman’s chiptune tracks are so good you’ll probably hum them for days.

Now, Mighty Switch Force! 2 takes the formula and cranks it up a notch. Instead of just chasing crooks, you’re also putting out fires, which adds a whole new layer of strategy. The fire mechanics are surprisingly fun, you gotta think fast and plan your moves carefully, or you’ll get roasted. The levels feel more dynamic, and the difficulty ramps up in a way that’s challenging but fair. Plus, the story’s got this quirky, self-aware humor that’s just delightful. Patricia’s one-liners and the absurdity of her job make the whole thing feel zappy.

Both games are super polished, but they’re also short. You can blast through them in a couple of hours, which might leave you wanting more. That said, the replayability comes from chasing those perfect times and high scores, so if you’re into speedrunning or perfecting your gameplay, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into.
