SNK VS. CAPCOM: MILLENIUM COLLECTION

So imagine taking the wild, over the top fighters from SNK’s The King of Fighters and Fatal Fury universes and throwing them into a cage match with CAPCOM's STREET FIGHTER and Darkstalkers crew. That’s SNK vs. CAPCOM in a nutshell, a crossover dream that somehow made it onto the console, blending two iconic fighting game styles into one chaotic package. You’ve got Ryu throwing fireballs at Kyo, Chun-Li spinning bird kicking Geese Howard, and Morrigan being… well, Morrigan. ShinoSmirk The roster’s a mix of fan favorites and deep cuts, and while it’s not the biggest selection, the sheer novelty of these matchups still hits hard.

The game runs on a tweaked version of SNK’s fighting engine, so it feels closer to The King of Fighters than STREET FIGHTER, which means it's fast paced, combo friendly, and with that signature SNK flair. There’s a standard VS mode, arcade ladder, and even a team battle option, but don’t expect a ton of single player content beyond that. It’s all about the versus action, and honestly, that’s where it shines. The sprites are crisp, the animations are smooth, and the stages? They're cool, blending both companies’ aesthetics into something that feels fresh yet familiar.

Special moves are flashy as hell, supers hit like trucks, and the sound design, those crunchy SNK hits mixed with Capcom’s iconic voice clips is pure ear candy.  The music slaps, with remixed tracks from both franchises that’ll have fans nodding along. Load times can be a drag, but once you’re in a match, the action flows smoothly.

Where the game stumbles is depth. There’s no real story mode, no crazy unlockables, just straight up fighting, but that’s fine. As a love letter to both SNK and CAPCOM fans, it’s hard to hate. It’s rough around the edges, yeah, but there’s something magical about seeing these characters share the screen.
