Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector
Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is basically a game where you put stuff in your backyard and hope cats show up, that's it, no goals, no pressure and no stress. You start with a tiny yard, some free food and a whole lot of patience and the gameplay loop is real simple: you put food and toys, wait and see which kitties decided to crash at your place. They leave behind silver and gold fishes which you then use to buy more toys, better food and even remodel your yard. The cats don't do much besides sit, loaf, wiggle or occasionally smack a ball around but that's kinda the point since you're here to vibe with digital strays.

What makes it so addictive is how it respects your time: you check in for maybe two minutes, refill the food bowl, snap a pic of that one cat you've been trying to catch for days and then go about your life, it's a low commitment game. Rare cats have all little personality names that are kinda funny like Guy Furry and Joe DiMeowgio and each one has its own favorite toys. Some are super rare and only show up if you place specific items, like a cowboy hat for Billy the Kitten or a pyramid for Ramses the Great, filling up the Catbook where you log every cat and the mementos they eventually drop becomes a weirdly satisfying long term goal that doesn't feel like a grind because it just happens naturally over weeks.
Visually, it's all handdrawn and soft with a cozy aesthetic that makes you want to just sit and watch.
They're just gentle loops of cats pouncing on yarn or lounging in cardboard boxes but it's charming as hell.
You can also change the whole look of your yard with remodels like a zen garden, a modern setup or even a sugary pastel theme which keeps things fresh.
The gameplay feels this satisfying 'cuz one of the devs said they wanted something even kids could enjoy without needing skill and they nailed it, there's even snow events where the yard gets covered in white and the music changes. It's those little touches that make it feel alive, even tho the cats themselves are just doing their own thing, just like real life!
You're not training them or taking care of them in a demanding way, you're just providing a nice space and if they vibe with it, they'll hang out.
