Terraria

Terraria is what happens when you take a sandbox, throw in a bunch of monsters, caves, treasures and questionable building decisions, then let players do whatever they want with all of it. You begin with little more than a few basic tools and a world waiting to be explored, but there's an awful lot to discover beneath the surface. adventures Dig through enormous underground caverns, gather materials, craft increasingly broken weapons and armor, build your own house, invite NPCs to move in and take on some seriously nasty bosses along the way. There's no single path you have to follow either, you can spend hours constructing an elaborate castle, go treasure hunting, experiment with different combat styles or simply dig straight down and hope you don't regret it.regret And just when you think you've seen everything, the world gets considerably more dangerous with Hardmode, introducing new enemies, equipment and challenges. It's an incredibly addictive adventure with an insane amount of content, and one of those games where you sit down for a quick mining session only to realize you've somehow lost half your afternoon. The 3DS version comes with a few interesting advantages and some pretty noticeable limitations. The dual screen setup is genuinely convenient, giving you a dedicated touchscreen for managing your inventory, equipment, crafting and the rest of menus without constantly interrupting the action. pingu_excited The core Terraria experience is still here too with exploration, building, boss battles, fishing and plenty of equipment to collect, it even retains some older exclusive content, including special enemies, items and the boss Ocram, which gives this version a little personality of its own. Unfortunately, this is also an older branch of the game, largely based on the 1.2.1 era, so it misses a substantial amount of content introduced in later updates. meh World sizes are smaller, online multiplayer isn't available and performance can struggle on the original 3DS while the New 3DS offers a considerably smoother experience and even supports expanded worlds. So, while this isn't exactly the definitive way to experience Terraria nowadays, it's still a pretty impressive adaptation of such a massive game which makes it great for newcomers. BunnyWave
