We are aware that no, this site doesn't look like it was built on Windows 98 (anymore). But could it be better? Absolutely. Here's what's cooking: The first stage of our redevelopment focuses on refreshing the platform's aesthetic and usability. While the current design remains functional, we recognize the value of creating a more contemporary and intuitive interface. Key components of this phase include:

► Visual & User Interface (UI) Refresh: The platform will receive an updated color scheme and visual styling. Although, the exact palette remains under consideration.
► Structural Reorganization: Streamlined categorization and intuitive menu restructuring to facilitate efficient content discovery. We'll move all your favorite buttons. Where? Fun mystery!
► Rebranding Initiative: The current platform name will be reevaluated to better reflect its purpose and community values. All changes will be implemented following user consultation to ensure alignment with community expectations.
► Potential Mascot Implementation: As part of our efforts to enhance platform personality, we are exploring the possibility of introducing an animated mascot character. However, this feature remains contingent upon budget availability, as resources must be carefully balanced between various redevelopment priorities, including our ongoing commitment to Lumiose City's infrastructure maintenance, particularly its pothole repair initiatives.

PHASE 2: THREADS ENHANCEMENTS

Phase 02

METROID THREAD

The METROID THREAD will receive a complete atmospheric overhaul to truly capture that iconic Metroid vibe. Darker color schemes, futuristic interface elements, and subtle Chozo-inspired design touches will transform your browsing experience into something worthy of Samus Aran herself. While we won't be expanding the scope of the thread, we are committed to making the existing space as immersive as possible. Expect improved organization, better media integration, and an overall more atmospheric presentation that makes scrolling through romhacks feel like exploring a derelict space station.

Pokémon Thread

The Pokémon thread is evolving! Introducing the Mega-Pokémon Thread, both in name and scope, we'll be officially incorporating 3DS hacks into it. This expansion reflects our commitment to keeping pace with the community's interests while maintaining the thread's reputation as the premier destination for Pokémon enthusiasts. The new structure will include dedicated sections for different generations, hack showcases, and a section for vanilla+ experiences.

New Threads Deployment

We're proud to introduce two new specialized threads to our platform. The Fire Emblem romhacks thread will provide detailed analysis of tactical modifications, balance changes, and narrative alterations in FE hacks. Reviews will include specific sections evaluating how changes affect gameplay strategy and ironman playthroughs.

Meanwhile, the Super Mario Thread will be a celebration of gaming's most iconic plumber and his extended universe, offering comprehensive coverage of platformer hacks, with standardized evaluation criteria for level design, physics modifications, and creative implementations. Special attention will be paid to ensuring equal representation for Luigi, after all, 2025 is his year too. Both new threads will follow our established quality standards while developing their own distinct identities.

PHASE 3: CONTENT EXPANSIONS

Phase 03

Teather

The Theater section will undergo a reorganization to improve content discoverability. We recognize the existing framework is solid, but expect refined categorization, optimized metadata tagging, and—most importantly—a more intuitive browsing experience.

Guides Section

The Guides section will be expanded and refined to better serve both newcomers and seasoned veterans with a structured overhaul for the index. New formatting standards will be introduced to improve readability, and legacy guides will be reviewed for accuracy. Additionally, we’ll implement video guides on it.

Full Playthrough

Understanding that the Full Playthrough section serves as the home for this site's compilations, we’ll prioritize making it more intuitive and visually distinct. The goal is to ensure visitors immediately recognize its purpose, whether they’re discovering it for the first time or revisiting old favorites. This means clearer labeling, better preview functionality, and a layout that highlights the depth of your curated mashups. No more scrolling down.

Catalogue Expansions

The Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Homebrew sections are already part of the catalogue, but as promised, we’re moving things around for better flow. Expect a more logical grouping instead of assembling it with the GameBoy Advance and SNES sections respectively.

Next in line for implementation are SEGA consoles (Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive, etc.) and PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16). These will be integrated with the same attention to detail, ensuring they fit seamlessly into the expanded catalogue. This final phase ensures that the site’s content isn’t just preserved but elevated, with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and that satisfying clickability we all crave. More updates to come as we finalize the roadmap, assuming Lumiose City’s pothole budget doesn’t siphon away our resources.
