Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit
Investigations 2, the Japan-only sequel (until now!), continues Miles Edgeworth’s journey as he faces new, more complex cases. This time around, the stakes are higher, with deeper themes of justice, corruption, and personal growth. Edgeworth faces challenges from his past, confronts enemies in the legal system, and questions the very nature of his work as a prosecutor. The game builds on the mechanics of the first one, refining the logic system and introducing even more challenging crime scene investigations and emotional confrontations.
While the first Investigations was a great start, Prosecutor's Gambit perfects the formula. The cases are more interesting, the characters have richer backstories, and the puzzles are tighter and more logical. The game digs deeper into Edgeworth’s character, giving him some truly emotional moments and showing his growth as a prosecutor and a person. The writing is sharper, the plot twists more unexpected, and the pacing much smoother.
