Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic Mania reminds us of what made the franchise legendary. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s dripping with that old-school charm. ‎So, Dr. Eggman is at it again, and it’s up to Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles to chase him down. But wait! We’re not just running through the same ol' Green Hill Zone again, this game serves up a fresh buffet of classic and new zones. You’ve got throwbacks like Chemical Plant Zone mixed with new bangers like Studiopolis.

Now, let’s talk about the gameplay. The controls are smooth, they bring that classic 2D platforming heat. You’re dashing, spinning, and jumping through levels that feel like a high-speed rollercoaster ride, like every Sonic game. On the standout levels, Studiopolis is a total showstopper with its funky neon lights and groovy soundtrack, and don’t sleep on the boss fights; they’re creative and challenging!

Visually, The whole aesthetic has this chill yet hyper vibe, it's a treat for the eyes. The pixel art is crisp and colorful, blending retro vibes with modern flair. The animations are slick, and the backgrounds pop hard.

But let’s keep it real about the New 3DS port, it’s a mixed bag. While it’s dope to have Sonic’s speedy antics on the go, those loading times are painfully slow. Seriously, you’ll be staring at that loading screen longer than you’ll be racing through Green Hill Zone.

And don’t even get me started on the special zones. You know, those areas where you’re trying to snatch those blue orbs? They lag so freakin' hard. It can be a real struggle trying to focus on grabbing those orbs when the game’s chugging like it’s stuck.
