HYRULE WARRIORS: LEGENDS
HYRULE WARRIORS: LEGENDS is the ultimate fan-service mashup for Zelda enjoyers, blending the epic hack-and-slash action of the Warriors series with the rich lore of The Legend of Zelda. This Nintendo 3DS version of the original HYRULE WARRIORS cranks it up with new characters, storylines, and features. You’ve got Link, Zelda, and a bunch of other fan-favorites (and some deep cuts) teaming up to take down hordes of enemies, giant bosses, and the usual bad guys like Ganondorf. The game jumps through different timelines, pulling in elements from Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and more. Plus, it introduces new playable characters like Skull Kid and Toon Link. It’s chaotic, over the top, and a fan-driven romp through Hyrule.

LEGENDS is a solid port over the original game, but it’s not without its quirks. The core gameplay is still a blast, smashing through hundreds of enemies with flashy combos never gets old, especially when you’re doing it as your favorite characters. The new additions, like the Wind Waker storyline and characters, are a welcome touch, and the 3DS version even lets you switch between characters mid-battle, which adds some strategy to the chaos.
But here’s the thing: the 3DS hardware kinda struggles to keep up. The frame rate can chug when things get too crazy on screen. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s noticeable. That said, the sheer amount of content is insane. There’s the main story mode, adventure mode with tons of challenges, and a ridiculous number of weapons and upgrades to grind for. It’s the kind of game you can sink hours into if you’re into that completionist grind.
