Ib

Ib, a little girl who gets dragged into a surreal, ever changing art gallery filled with unsettling paintings, living mannequins, and puzzles that mess with your head. The vibe is like stepping into a nightmare where even the walls feel like they’re watching you. The sound design is minimal but effective, just enough silence to make every footstep or distant whisper hit harder.

The gameplay is classic RPG Maker horror: simple movement, item collecting, and puzzles. Some solutions can feel a bit obscure, but the trial and error nature kinda fits the game’s unpredictable world. There’s no combat, just pure survival horror where running and thinking are your only tools. The multiple endings add replay value, and your choices (even small ones) can drastically change how things play out. The bad endings are especially brutal, making the good ones feel earned.

Characters are where Ib really shines. Garry, the nervous but kindhearted dude in the blue coat and Mary, the mysterious girl who seems a little too attached to the gallery are both memorable. Their interactions with Ib shape the story, and the way their relationships develop (or fall apart) depending on your actions is gripping. Mary in particular is a standout, her mood swings and backstory make her one of the most compelling characters in indie horror.

Visually, the game nails its aesthetic. The gallery feels like a twisted love letter to surreal art, with each area having its own distinct, unsettling theme. The enemy designs are simple but effective, especially the Guertena dolls, which are just wrong in the best way. The writing is sharp, balancing dread with moments of genuine warmth, and the dialogue never overstays its welcome.

If there’s a flaw, it’s that some puzzles can be frustrating without a guide, but honestly, is a minor gripes. Ib is a masterclass in psychological horror, using its setting and characters to create something that sticks with you long after the credits roll. It’s short but dense, every moment feels intentional, and the emotional payoff (especially in the true ending) is worth every second of tension. If you’re into horror that prioritizes mood over jumpscares, this one’s a must play.

The gallery’s walls are shifting... The download buttons below are your first brushstroke, choose your language carefully, or if you’d rather slip through the cracks, the FBI app waits in the shadows, a smuggler’s passage into the exhibit. Once the transfer is complete, the game will rest on your HOME Menu, silent as an untouched canvas… but don’t be fooled. It’s watching. Always watching.
