The game’s structure is mission driven, tasking you with objectives like defeating specific enemies or hunting down key items. The combat is real time, letting you freely move around and unleash attacks using Allen’s Innocence or other playable characters' abilities. You can also call in fellow exorcists for backup, which adds a nice tactical layer. As you progress, you’ll unlock and upgrade skills to take on tougher foes. It’s straightforward but fun, tho it can get repetitive after a while. The controls take some getting used to, but once you’re past the learning curve, the battles feel pretty satisfying.
The character sprites are detailed, and the attack animations are smooth, capturing the anime’s vibe. The environments are diverse, pulling straight from the series' goth steampunk aesthetic. Sound-wise, the game nails it with the anime's OST, which is a treat for fans. The sound effects are solid too, from the clashing of weapons to the eerie noises of the Akuma, making the world feel alive.
Beyond the main story, there’s a free battle mode where you can pick any unlocked character and duke it out in an arena. There’s also multiplayer, letting you challenge friends in various matchups. These extras add replay value, just keep in mind they’re not deep enough to keep you hooked for too long.
