My Hero Academia: Battle for All

My Hero Academia: Battle for All rides the hype of the anime’s first season, piting students from U.A. High against each other in team based battles with a roster of 20 characters including fan favorites like Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki. The story mode is barebones, just a basic tournament arc with minimal cutscenes but it’s got some fun fan service for early MHA fans. The gameplay is simple, with each character having a few signature moves and ultimates but it’s more about button mashing than deep combat mechanics. Oh and it's a Japan-only, but honestly, you really don't miss much. Mesmerizer_Miku_Shrug

The fighting system is straightforward but kinda clunky. You’ve got light and heavy attacks, a guard and a special move tied to each character’s Quirk. The big gimmick is the Plus Ultra, fill it up and you can unleash a flashy super move. It’s cool the first few times but the animations get repetitive fast. The team based combat adds a little strategy, letting you swap between characters mid fight but the AI is dumb as fuck. Jinx_Disgusted Playing solo gets old quick, so local multiplayer is where the game kinda shines if one of your friends wanna play with you.

The character models are good and the super moves capture the anime’s energy, but the stages are bland and the framerate chugs sometimes. The soundtrack eh, just rock tunes that don’t stand out. Content-wise, there’s the story mode, versus battles, and a barebones mission mode that you won't understand 'cuz it's in Japanese and ain't an English translation for this game yet. So, for now, I'd only recommend for fans of the anime. CSMPokerFace
