Petit Eva: EVANGELION@GAME

Petit Eva: EVANGELION@GAME strips away all the psychological weight of NEON GENESIS EVANGELION and replaces it with a collection of lighthearted minigames. Based on the Petit Eva: EVANGELION@SCHOOL manga, the game presents Shinji and the gang in chibi style as they navigate 48 weeks of touchscreen challenges. The gameplay is pure WarioWare-style chaos with five distinct minigame types, ranging from point and click adventures to frantic tapping sequences that keep things fast paced but shallow. It's a stark departure from EVA's usual tone, trading apocalyptic dread for low stakes fun.

The real curiosity here is the game's historical footnote status as the first official appearance of Mari Makinami outside of REBUILD OF EVANGELION teasers, tho her design is an early prototype rather than her final 2.0 look. Beyond that, the game doesn't offer much depth, unlockable items and character profiles add minor replay value but the minigames themselves are hit or miss. Some are clever, like the puzzle and quiz segments, while others feel like padding, looking at you, endless tapping levels. torielwtf

Visually, it's typical DS fare: bright, simple and functional, with none of the series' signature brooding atmosphere. The music is cheerful as well, further distancing itself from EVA's usual intensity. As a game, it's more of a novelty than a must play, not particularly substantial, but as a weird little artifact of EVANGELION's multimedia sprawl. MariShrug
