Soul Eater: Medusa's Plot

Soul Eater: Medusa’s Plot follows the first half of the anime, throwing players into the shoes of Maka, Black☆Star, and Death the Kid as they train at Death Weapon Meister Academy. Their goal? Collect enough souls to transform their weapon partners into Death Scythes while foiling Medusa's scheme to resurrect the Kishin Asura. The story sticks close to the anime's beats, so fans will recognize the villains: witches, zombies and immortals, all standing in their way.

Visually, the game goes for a chibi art style, which gives it a cute vibe. The gameplay is where things get interesting, and a little frustrating. You control the three meisters from an isometric perspective, switching between them with the touchscreen. Combat relies heavily on stylus swipes and taps for attacks, deflecting beams, and pulling off combos. Problem is, the touch controls can be finicky, miss a swipe and you’re eating an enemy hit. catcoughblood

Another downside? The game drowns you in text. Dialogue boxes pop up constantly, making you wish they’d just animated some cutscenes instead. pixel_toro_bloodcough
