Jack Bros.
Jack Bros. is this cute dungeon crawler SMT spinoff. The story's simple: it's Halloween night and some fairies (including our main trio) are vibing in the human world when they realize they're about to miss their deadline to return home. If they don't make it back by midnight, they're stuck forever. Cue the panic. You pick one of three Jacks: Jack Frost (obviously), Pyro Jack or Jack Ripper, then rush through six timed areas, guided by Pixie, who's your tutorial fairy, again. Each character has their own ending, which is a nice touch for replayability.

Gameplay-wise, you're running through floors, killing enemies, grabbing keys to unlock the exit and trying not to get wrecked by traps that pop up over time: lasers, dark zones, warp tiles, the usual. Enemies start simple but get trickier, some with their own gimmicks, like the ones that split into smaller dudes when you hit them. There are power-ups too, like invincibility potions, special attacks, shields, and time bonuses, which you'll desperately need because getting hit also drains your timer. And yeah, the time limit is brutal, even this SMT spinoff doesn't mess around.
The characters play differently, which is cool. Jack Frost is balanced, Pyro Jack is slower but hits harder and Jack Ripper is fast but weaker. The bosses are decently creative for such a short game and the pixel art (what little there is) has that old-school Megami Tensei charm.
