MONSTER HUNTER GENERATIONS ULTIMATE is the ultimate love letter to MONSTER HUNTER fans, packing in everything that makes the series awesome and then some. Released on the Nintendo Switch, this game is basically the beefed-up version of MONSTER HUNTER GENERATIONS, think of it like the Royal version of Persona 5 or the Black Edition of Need for Speed: Most Wanted: same core, but bigger, better, and with way more polish and extras. It’s got more monsters, more maps, more weapons, and more ways to absolutely wreck some dinosaur-dragon hybrids. You play as a hunter tasked with taking down these massive beasts, crafting gear from their remains, and looking like a total badass while doing it. Oh, and there’s a ton of content, like, hundreds of hours’ worth. It’s a grind, but the kind of grind that makes you go, “Just one more hunt, I swear”. 

Let’s get one thing straight: this is not for the faint of heart. This game is hardcore, and it doesn’t hold your hand. If you’re new to the series, you might feel like you’ve been thrown into the deep end of a pool filled with Tigrexes. But for veterans, it’s a dream come true. The sheer amount of content is insane over 90 monsters, including returning favorites and some gnarly new additions like Valstrax, the jet-powered elder dragon (yes, you read that right ). The Hunting Styles and Hunter Arts from GENERATIONS make a comeback, letting you customize your playstyle in ways that feel fresh and fun. Want to go full anime with aerial dual blades? Go for it. Prefer to tank hits and counter with a massive greatsword? You do you.

Now, here’s the kicker: This game was actually released for the 3DS too… but only in Japan. But thanks to the magic of the internet, there’s an English translation patch floating around, and here’s the best part, yeah, I know some of you are wondering: can your old 3DS handle this? The answer is hell yes, it can!!
