Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World
Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World is basically the portable, slightly tweaked version of the Wii U original, and honestly, it’s still a super charming ride. The game keeps everything that made the original great: adorable yarn-based aesthetics, tight platforming, and that classic Yoshi charm, but throws in some new stuff to justify the 3DS port. The big addition? Poochy, Yoshi’s loyal pup pal, who now has his own (kinda easy) mini-levels and acts as a cheat mode if you’re struggling. It’s a nice touch, especially for younger players or those who just wanna vibe without the challenge.

Compared to the Wii U version, the 3DS one obviously loses some visual punch, those cozy, detailed wool textures don’t pop as much on the smaller screen. But the core gameplay is still solid, and the portability is a huge plus. The two-player co-op from the Wii U is gone, which is a bummer, but the new Poochy Dash mode and the ability to replay levels with different handicaps (like a time limit or no-flower runs) add some replay value. The soundtrack’s just as delightful, tho, with those same cheerful, yarn-y tunes that’ll stick in your head.
If you missed the Wii U version, this is a fantastic way to experience Woolly World on the go. It’s not a massive upgrade, but the Poochy content and portability make it worth checking out. If you already played the original tho, there’s not enough new here to demand a double dip unless you’re a die-hard Yoshi fan or just really want to take those woolly adventures on the road. Either way, it’s a cozy, fun platformer that’s hard to hate. Nintendo nailed the vibe, even if it’s a little less impressive on the small screen.
